Maggie flexed her claws and dug them into the blanket she was curled-up on. She blinked her baby-blue eyes as the light of flames danced across her face. How she loved the fires that Jess lit for her ... they were so ... well ... warm! Even if Maggie would pad out of the room, she would still feel a glow inside her. Jess bent-down and scratched Maggie beneath the chin, then behind the ears. Maggie rolled onto her back and stretched-out her fore-legs and back-legs, "Ahhhhh ..." She heard the patter of rain-drops on the roof of the house. "Rain!" Jess murmured. Maggie purred. Jess liked rain. The human stood up and left the room. Moments later, she returned. "I checked the radar, and it's gonna rain as heavy as it can get!" she said, "there's been flooding further-up north, so now we're getting the rain from there!" Maggie cocked her head. Radar? ... flooding? ... and North? What were the meanings of these words? Maggie exhaled deeply. Surely it wouldn't be bad. She'll be fine! Suddenly, the rain grew heavier. "Here it comes!" Jess cried, "Mum! Al! We're getting the heavy rain!" Maggie sat-up as Jess's brother, Alec, and her mother entered the room. They all quietly cried out with surprise when thunder began to rumble up ahead. Then the thunder grew suddenly louder - a LOT louder! Wait a second! Maggie thought to herself, That's the rain!!! "That must be the rain Jess was talking about!" Maggie meowed to herself. The humans opened the front door and Jess yelled with alarm. The front yard was now a pool of foaming water, mud, and debris! Maggie leaped-up into Jess's arms. She gasped when she spotted all of the storm-water from the street gushing down the driveway and the footpath, heading for the house! The water was only about a tail-length deep, but it was still alarming to see it all pouring down the driveway and onto the veranda! Jess put Maggie down and stepped out-side, with Alec and their mother following. Maggie stayed-put. She knew The Outside was exciting yet dangerous, and she didn't want to go outside when all of that rain was coming down! She'd get wet! Squeals of joy and surprise sounded from all three of Maggie's house-mates as they stepped, bare-footed, out from under the veranda-roof and into what looked like a vast sheet of water. Literally, there was NO place outside where those humans COULDN'T stay dry! Nowhere! Maggie was transfixed by all of the water and why the humans where out there ... for a while. Soon she became tired of it and she headed back for the bed she shared with Jess in their room. She settled down on-top of the doona and gazed out of the window into the wild, dark, stormy, and very wet afternoon. Before she knew it, she was asleep ...

Featherstream shivered. The floodwater was exciting to her, but staying wet for too long, like now, was scary. she called out for anyone, if they could hear her in this loud nuicance that was this storm. Hearing no one, she ran to the next Garden bush, still not used to the area. She had no idea where she was anymore, as she had been playing in the water before she realized she had lost track of where she had come from. She yowled again. she heard a squeal of delight, and, looking around, she saw some twolegs, faintly, but there. She yowled again, tearing toward them, but instead running to a closer bush. Wait... she didn't know them. why was she trying to go to them for help? She had no idea. She mewed softly. 'Someone help me...'

Over the sound of gushing water, her heartbeat, and the squeals of humans, Maggie heart yowling. Someone was in trouble. She sprung to her feet and leaped-off her bed. She landed with a faint thump and the little blue bell on her collar went berserk. She shivered - the doona she had been sleeping on had harbored her warmth. After a brisk stretch, she skittered to the entrance of her den. She got-up on her hind-legs and pressed her paws on the fly-wire. "Hello?" she meowed, "... is anyone there?" Jess stopped splashing-around in the front yard and faced the Siamese, "It's okay, Maggie. I'll be in soon!" Maggie shook her head. "I wasn't talking to you, Jess!" "Hush, Mag-Mag!" the human called-out. Humans ... Maggie thought to herself, ... they just don't understand. They make no sense at all ...Maggie pressed harder against the screen-door. Maybe she could open it. "Probably not ..." Maggie murmured to herself, "I'm too small ..." Again, she took a breath and cried-out, "Anyone there? Are you okay? Hello?"

Feather mewed in surprise as she heard a cat's voice. "Hello?" She jumped toward where she heard the voice, saw a cat through a screen door, and ran up to it, her blasted bell tinkling. "Oh thank goodness! I'm cold and wet! And i don't remember how to get back, and i didn't even find any fish!" She had her paws up against the door now, attempting to reach for the handle she knew would help her get into safety. annoyed and still distressed, she jumped up and clung to the screen, still reaching for the handle. Feather looked like such a pitifle scrap, soaked, with her fur still dripping and pasted to her sides.

"Hey!" Maggie meowed, "Wait! Get off! I can't open the door if you're clinging onto it!" This cat looked like she was the same age as Maggie, but she was bigger; almost every cat was bigger than Maggie. "Right!" Maggie hissed. She had always felt hostile toward other cats. Jess loved them SO much ... the Siamese always wondered if she would be replaced one-day. Strangely, Maggie didn't feel too bad around this cat, "if you're not gonna co-operate, you can stay outside!" But that's just cruel ... Maggie thought, I might as well help ... it'll give me something to do ... She reared back, then slammed all of her weight onto the door. Nothing. Maggie was simply too small. She didn't weigh enough. She thought or a moment, then spoke to the strange new cat, "Hey, head down that side of the den," she flicked her tail to one side of the house, "and I'll meet you in my cat-run. We'll see if you can squeeze in through the wire!" Maggie knew she could poke her head through the wire, but just not the rest of her body. Once, she had escaped from the cat-run by squeezing through the wire on the top of her run, which had wider gaps. Maybe this cat could fit. "Meet you there!" Maggie meowed. She sped through the front-hall and into the laundry. She head-butted the cat-flap, and it swung open. She stepped down the small wooden platforms that Jess had attached to the side of the house so Maggie could get-down into the grass. Maggie leaned against the wire, the grass submerged, and water just covering her paws, "You here yet?"

Clyde was out for his nightly stroll, before he heard some loud mewing. "What the... Oh! Other cats! Finally, some fun!" He jumped onto the fence, then jumped over into a pile of soft dirt, that seeped through his paws, and into his fur. He sighed. "Hello? Is anyone here?" Clyde mewed. He heard some bells, and some more meowing. He crouched down and took in a deep breath, being very sure not to make his little gold bell ring. Squinting his eyes, he crept closer, and closer towards the two cats. *TING* Big mistake... His bell rang. He let out a big breath, and stood up. "Aah! Maggie! I didn't recognize your sent! What happened?" Clyde looked at the little Siamese, and straight into her baby blue eyes, with his flaming yellow eyes.

"Oh ... er ... hey, Clyde!" Maggie meowed. She felt an awkward guilt prick at her freezing paws; the last time Maggie had seen Clyde, which also happened to be the first, he had been brought-over by his human, and Jess had told Maggie that Clyde might be living with them. He was going to be an out-side cat. But, when he had come up-stairs, Maggie had been furious - she thought Jess was going to replace her! Maggie had screeched, hissed and spat at Clyde, scaring him out of his fur. He had been so startled that he ran all of the way back to his original home. He had just wanted to say hello, but a cat a third of his size had shoed him away. "I'm sorry about last time ..." Maggie murmured. She still had her paws against the chicken-wire which Jess had used for her run. Sheets of water bucketed-down from the sky, dripped off the wire above Maggie's silver head, and plastered her white fur to her body. Now she looked twice as skinny, just skin and bone. "Have you seen a grey cat, who's - of course - bigger than me, but smaller than you? She has blue eyes and she was gonna come in!" Maggie knew that Clyde would be shocked that the Siamese was helping a stranger. The water was up to Maggie's belly now, but it seemed nowhere near Clyde's belly. The water was about a third of the way up his legs. "Please, can you help us? I hate water and I'm WAY smaller that you! The other cat needs help! She's exhausted and soaked!" Maggie glanced at her submerged back-paws, "... and I am too! Could you help, Clyde?"

It wasn't like Maggie to want to help a stranger... Clyde paced quickly in front of the mesh. "Sure, I can help!" He smiled at Maggie. "Don't worry about last time we met. It's okay. I was only young then, and so were you. Now I am bigger, stronger, older and less afraid of water and other cats!" Clyde smiled again, but kept his eyes locked onto Maggie's. "Now. About that other cat. I heard her before... and I can smell her now." Clyde squinted his eyes and thought hard... If I was a small cat, in a flood... Where would I hide... "Aha! I know!" Clyde sprang up, and seemed to double in size. He had grown lots in the last few moons, and was much bigger now. "Maggie! I think the other cat is up there!" Clyde looked up at a small little house in the garden that was next to the cat-run. He flicked his tail nervously. "Maggie, just get up higher, and try not to get any wetter. I will be back with the other cat soon." As soon as he said that last word, Clyde was swept off his feet by a big rush of water. He was a great swimmer, but this was hard to evan paddle in! Gulping for air and thrashing his paws, Clyde managed to grab onto the little house's post. "G-Got it!" He said in between splutters. After a huge coughing fit, Clyde managed to haul himself onto his feet, then onto the fence, and up onto the roof. Sure enough, there was the little grey cat. "Come on. I don't bite!" Clyde called to her, but she didn't move. She was frozen. That's weird! Im gonna have to carry her... O well... Is for Maggie and her, so I'll do it. He scrambled over to the cat, hauled her up onto his shoulders, and leapt off the house. The water had gotten deeper than before... Much deeper! Nearly drowning under the other cat's weight, Clyde spluttered and panicked. "Uh! He-" His mouth filled with water; foul smelling and tasting water. He accidentally swallowed it! "BLECH!" Clyde cringed and dug his claws into the ground under the water, and heaved with all the little might in his body. After about 8 struggling steps, he managed to hook one of his claws into the mesh. "Maggie! W-Where's a H-Hole!?" Clyde blurted out before getting a mouthful of water and the cat nearly falling off his back.

(OOC: Uh... Sorry... I just wanted you to know my cat wouldn't have done that... she's a decent enough swimmer... ^_^; and Next time please wait? Thanks for understanding! and i didn't mean to sound rude if i did, so if i did, I'm really, really sorry!)
Feather blinked at the siamese cat's words. "Oh! I'm sorry!" she got down and stepped away, nearly falling off the porch. The water was getting high. She listened to the siamese cat tell her about a wire. "Okay!" 'If i can find it,' she thought. she moved around to one side, but found herself in deeper water. 'Great...' she saw a box thing in the front garden. She decided to swim towards it first. she did reach it, and clawed her way up it. the cat stayed there a moment before another cat came and told her to come with him. She just stared at him for a moment. What? Then the cat had somehow gotten her on his back and had started swimming away with her, barely able to swim with her. Alarmed, she watched as the cat seemed to be swallowing too much water. 'No!' She slid off his back, and, grabbing him by the cuff while ignoring whatever he would say, swam with him as best as he could to the area he had headed. at one point, her feet had finally touched the ground, but that wasn't saying much, as her belly was being drenched still. She let go of him. "You crazy furball! I was only resting!" She swished her soaked tail. "Thanks, though. That was brave."

Clyde sighed. "Well... Thanks for saving me... I'm sorry!" Clyde mewed. "I think I should go now..." He looked at Maggie, then at Feather. "Cya guys... I should get back to Kim... She will be wondering where I am, and especially in this storm." Clyde hung his head, and turned around. "Thanks for that, again Feather... And Maggie, I hope to s-" Clyde paused, and screeched! "WAVE!" He shouted. Horror filled his face, jumped up onto the mesh and clung on for dear life. A huge rush of water came over all of them. "MAGGIE!" He shouted in between splutters, as the rush seemed to go on forever... Oh no! Where are they!? he panicked. "Maggie! Fea-" Another wave came over him, but this time, he was unprepared, and it washed him away.

Feather felt shocked and guilty as he began to walk away. "No, wait-" Feather gasped in horror as she heard the warning and saw the wave heading toward her. She turned and ran with the wave in order to reduce the impact of it, but it didn't take long before she was tumbling in it and, as she moved her paws, was finally above it. She screeched, but more in frustration than terror, though she was terrified. Why did all this have to happen to her? She continued to swim, though the water was still sweeping her away. "Hello? can anyone hear me?" she didn't hear anything over the water. "Mouse dung!" she continued to cry out, but heard nothing. then, suddenly, her collar got caught on a branch. she screeched in terror, a sound that was quickly cut off as she went under. When she came up again, struggling still, she called out again. "Help-!" she struggled, though they were getting weaker as she continued to swallow water. then, suddenly, her collar snapped! next thing she knew, she washed up on a porch, coughing up water. she was shaking, but fine, besides the fact that she still didn't recognize the surroundings. and now, there was no way of getting back yet.

"Oh no!" Maggie cried, "er ... hey, are you alright?!? Anyone? Can you hear me?" Maggie felt panic rise in her chest like the storm-water in her run. She also felt awkward - she didn't know the silver-grey cat's name! She bounded-up the platforms attached to the side of her den, and stopped on the highest one. "Hello? Are you there?"

Feather yowled, "Hello?" Loud as she could, then coughed, finding water had gotten into her lungs. She shivered, still coughing. What would happen if she couldn't breath properly? She gasped for breath as the coughing fit began to die down. She walked to the side of the porch, seeing a railing, and jumped and clawed her way up the wood, looking for anyone or anything she recognized. Then she saw the siamese cat a few nests away. Crying with releif, she jumped down, almost dunking her head in more water. She waded as fast as she could to the other cat, having to swim again at some spots, which cost her the need to cough again. "Where'd that other cat go?" she asked when she was close enough.
