Watching from within the dried grass that surrounded the area, Servalite observed the cats as they tested their fighting skills against eachother. She was about to step out of her position when the cat that they called Log swiped at another cat who Servalite did not know. She withdrew her paw and waited for the disagreement to cool over. As the issue was now sorted, she steped out of the grass and headed over to the training cats, looking up at Skorpion, who was perched as to look over the rouges. She saw his scruffy, pitch black fur, his scars, and his glowing yellow eyes. She couldn't doubt the fact that he was a rogue. He noticed Servalite and looked at her, then nodded, reasuring her that she was allowed here. She continued her way over, nervous for the reaction she would recieve from the others, but confident at heart as the conversation she had with Skorpion soothed her concerns.

Black looked over at Servalite, who seemed to trying to pretend confidence, but was not completely careful about it; he could smell her unease. He went toward Skorpion as she moved for him, stopping beside the ledge he was on. He watched the cat carefully, not saying a word until she reached them. “That’s far enough,” he said when she was two and a half tail lengths away.

Stream had hurriedly excused Storm, and automatically walked beside Black. She peered suspiciously at the spotted cat. She seemed small, quite young, but ready to fight if she had to. Stream gave a small smile. The younger cats lacked experience. Stream would have the odds on herself. The stranger didn't look like a clan cat, being much skinnier and more scruffy, but it seemed strange that this small youngster came out of no-where and didn't seem lost or confused. She looks barely out of training! Stream thought for herself, studying the cat up and down "Why have you come here?" Stream asked in suspicion.

By the look in their eyes, she figured that Skorpion hadn't told them that she'd arrived . . . . he'd let her introduce herself, what a warm welcome. She puffed up her chest and tried to stop her voice from cracking. "I am Servalite. I have come to join the rouges. Do not worry, Skorpion knows I'm here ...." she went blank, hoping that she was only imagining the amusement in the other cats eyes. "...And wh-what names do you go b-by?" She stuttered.

Stream narrowed her eyes. She had a fair explanation, but she had never seen the pretty leopard spot cat near the camp. She then decided to play dumb and go along with what Servalite said "Welcome. I am Stream and this is Black, my mate" She winced at herself. She sounded so much like a show-off when she said those last three words. She hoped Black wouldn't mind. She composed herself, quickly erasing her embarrassed face. She hated showing her personal feeling to strangers.

Skorpion padded-up behind Servalite and leaned-down to murmur in her ear. "That is Black ..." he said, nodding towards the black-faced cream tom. He then nodded towards the dark brown, almost black she-cat with silver eyes, " ... that is Stream ..." Skorpion stepped in-front of Servalite and puffed-out his chest, flattening his ears and looking the new cat head- to-toe, "I am Skorpion . . ." His hackles, which where always raised, bristled, ". . . what is your name?"

Sunsetcloud, still in the nursery and had woken up from her nap, was watching in curiousity and fear of the confrontation of the three rogues against the mysterious cat. She pleaded to herself that the lone cat, of which she could hardly see, would be able to make peace with the hot-tempered rogues and somehow get away unharmed. The silver eyed she-cat, who had taken her hostage, snapped her head around to glare at the elder. Sunsetcloud shrank back on the moss den, frightened. That dark grey she-cat shouldn't of been able to see her. Sunsetcloud could hardly see her through the long grass. She snapped her head away from the four cats and closed her eyes tightly. If only she wasn't a hostage! If only she been more careful! If only she took notice where she was! If only, if only, if only!

Black relaxed slightly as first Stream, then Scorpion introduced them. He had not minded Stream's introduction, swishing his tail to hers to calm her and watching the other cat. He allowed himself to be amused by the young cat's stuttering. He walked around the cat to make her a little nervous, allowing his muscles to ripple with evey step. "And what's your buisiness, exactly?"

What was with these cats? She had just said that she had come in peace, and to join the rouges.....Looks like she was starting from scratch. "Like i just said, my name is Servalite, and i have come to join the rouges" she said each word carefully, making sure to sound like she new her buisness here. So far, she seemed not to mind the cat called Stream, but the one called Black was giving her a reason to stutter. But Skorpion, well, no wonder he was the leader, with eyes and a body like that, no cat would challenge him for his position.

Stream looked at her, surprised that the cat had burst out what she wanted to say "Well.." she said, pretending to think for a while, but careful not to act like the leader. "The rogues are live-hard, die-hard cats. Do you trust her, Skorpion? Black?"

"Hmm..." said Black. "Perhaps we could test her?" He looked at Scorpion. "Just to see if she can handle the a few scares. Think that would be good Scorpion? Or should we let her look around?" He looked to Scorpion for his leadership. Black didn't mind another cat here, he just wanted to let her know exactly how things were here before she reached a final decision.
(Scare, as in "OMG A MONSTER" not "This cut is deep, it'll be imprinted." I felt like saying this for my own benifit, not for anyone else in particular. Right now i feel kinda dumb, so bear with me.)

Stream's mocking smile disappeared. Her stomch gave a sickening twist. She looked around in panic. If she didn't get away in time, everyone was going to get seriously messy. "E-excuse me" She stuttered, struggling to keep her voice level. Her stomach gave a warning rumble. Without another word, she bolted off behind the rogue camp, to be alone. She looked around hastily to make sure no one was looking, and she...errr...did what she needed to do. Geez, something I had didn't agree with me she thought I don't want the others to see me like this. I might just have a rest in the den She padded off, but suddenly felt hungry. One scrawny mouse wouldn't hurt? She grabbed a small mouse off the top of the pile and sat down to eat it. She looked at Black, Servalite and Skorpion talking, but then looked down and ravenously tore off some more flesh off the mouse. She wasn't part of the conversation anymore.

A test? A scare? This was not going to plan. Why couldn't they just let her look around? Her hackles rose, her ears flattening back slightly. Then, without warning, Stream darted away. Servalite followed her with her eyes and went to step forward, but changed her mind as Black was right infront of her.

Stream licked her lips slowly after eating the mouse. The embarrassment was getting to her. She almost threw up on three cats, for goodness sake! And straight after being sick, she felt ravenously hungry and eaten a mouse instead of re-joining an important discussion! It was too late to go back there. They'd seen her eating the fresh-kill like a crazy cat. Tiredness swept over like a wave. She shook her head in bewilderment Really! Feeling naseous, hungry and sleepy in five minutes! She took one last look at the three remaining cats talking, and slinked off to the den, trying to avoid amused gazes.

Would a test be necessary?[/b] Skorpion thought to himself, After what happened with Cloud and Mythwing's kits . . . but ... I can't make myself look weak in-front of my followers, and we need this cat to prove she's worthy to join our ranks ... [/b]
The tom seemed to ignore Stream, only giving a slight nod to show he heard her. He then turned toward Servalite, though he was talking to Black.
"I believe a scare shall be necessary, Black . . ." Skorpion grunted, "if she succeeds . . ." he trailed off, a thought consuming him. If she survives ...[/b] Skorpion blinked and continued, " ... if she succeeds, you may guide her around the premises ..." The tom's vivid yellow eyes seemed to flash, "Now, let's begin. This way ..." He signaled for the pair of cats to follow with a flick of his tail. "To the Bad Lands ..."

He watched with unshown concern as his mate excused herself. Scorpion then gave the order, and Black nodded, trying to concentrate. He thought about getting one other cat. He wanted to see how she faired in an ambush. The best cat in the Rogues was probably Log, but he was far too violent. Perhaps the she-cat, Shade.
At this point he glanced at Stream, who, after seeming sick, went to grab some more fresh-kill. A thought popped into his haed, one that he had to put aside for now. Where was he? Oh, yes. Shade was not too violent, but not too merciful. She would know when to stop. He followed Scorpion and Servalite for a moment slipping here and there like a shadow, until he was unnoticed, then he slipped away to get her before they noticed he was gone. It only took a moment, and he was following once again. the she-cat he had chosen hadtaken another route so as not to be seen and noticed. She had also chosen to take one more cat, her favorite pupil, River, who had just joined the Learners a few moons ago.
He blinked, reminded of something. He quickley caught up to Scorpion. "I have an idea for a new battle tactic."

"Yes, Black?" Skorpion muttered. He swivelled his ears, testing to see if he could hear the ambushing cats. He had seen them out of the corner of his eye, though he hoped Servalite hadn't.
Surely she wouldn't have ...[/b] he thought,She'd be to worried to notice. I can scent her anxiety ... [/b]

Black seemed happy to share his idea. "If we are few in number, we use this tecnique. We hide in the undergrowth, using it and darkness to our advanage. this can be carried out at night or the day, becaue we are used to hunting in he night and we are used to moving through dense undergrowth. We make no sounds, and act as if we are wind in the trees if a cat does hear. what we do is when the timing is right, we strike hard and fast, then fade back into the forest just as quickley, when they think we are gone, we strike, but from another side. We strike them just as fast, and just as hard. then we disappear into the woods again. if they still are there, we attack from both sides. the three attacks should be enough to drive them off." Black hesitated for a moment to let that sink in. But the key to this is to not allow the cats to recognize you, so you cannot give them that chance. And we could practice this both using darkness and underbrush to our advantage, like i said before." He waited for Scorpion's response.

"... brilliant ..." Skorpion murmured hollowly, though he really meant what he said. In the back of his head, he could hear a high pitched wailing that went on and on. It had started ever since he had scented strange smells from the camp. His paws prickling with unease, he turned to face the cream tom. "Black ... " he started, "I think we should head back to camp. I've got a strange feeling that .... that something's just not right ... I'd hate to spoil the fun with this keen newcomer ... but I have to go .." Secretly, Skorpion was glad he didn't have to scare the wits out of the healthy young cat that Servalite was, but he had to hide his weaknesses. "We'll have to do the scare another time ... the safety of the cluster matters more ..." Skorpion realised how much he sounded like a clan cat. Not that it was a bad thing - Skorpion wished he could just leave this desert and live in the lush forest of the Clans' territory. At the moment, he just hoped Black didn't notice. Nodding to his comrade and signalling to Servalite to follow, Skorpion turned-tail and headed back to the Rogue settlement.
